Here it is! My manuscript wishlist:

As a physically disabled, queer woman of color, I’m always looking for authors and stories from these and other marginalized communities. Part of my mission in becoming an agent is to do my part to help the publishing industry better reflect the colorful world we live in today.

Adult Non-Fiction:

  • Pop culture analysis, humor, essays — anything tv, movie, film-related, and/or that can make me laugh (or cry). Examples: One Day We'll All Be Dead and None of This Will Matter by Scaachi Koul; Wow, No Thank You. by Samantha Irby; Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino

  • Personal growth, science, tech — well-researched “big ideas” like Grit by Angela Duckworth and Stuff Matters by Mark Miodownik. Also always looking for interesting, diverse perspectives like Lab Girl by Hope Jahren and Brotopia by Emily Chang

  • Sociology, anthropology, journalistic narrative — anything that expands a reader’s worldview or gives an intimate look into a specific community, vocation or fandom. Examples: From Here to Eternity by Caitlin Doughty, Murderland by Caroline Fraser, anything by Mary Roach

Adult Fiction:

  • Upmarket — voicey page-turners with buttery prose and memorable characters like Your House Will Pay by Steph Cha and We Love You, Charlie Freeman by Kaitlyn Greenidge

  • Elevated, high concept genre — Romance! Fantasy! Thrillers! I’m open to a wide variety of genres as long as the story has something a little extra special: couples with off-the-charts chemistry, or that deliciously addictive “can’t-stop-reading-this” feeling. Examples: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas; The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

YA Fiction:

  • Romance! Fantasy! And stuff that makes you cry — you know the stuff: To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han; The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan; The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Weirdly Specific:

  • Black Swan meets K-Pop world thriller (h/t editor-friend, you know who you are)

  • BIPOC Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (h/t editor-friend, you know who you are)

*Note: I am not looking to represent picture books at this time; will consider select middle grade.
